Dear Friends,

I’m pleased to share with you my new website Peter Bartlett Art & Antiques. On this website, you’ll see an edited collection of material which includes: Dance masks from Guatemala, an array of 19th and 20th century bird figures, Antique American boxes, and Central American Religious Figures.

The guiding spirit of the collection is centered on valuing the interesting above the beautiful, age as assured by craftsmanship, and subjective worth equal to that of objective market value. But, most of all, my highest ambition is to fan the flames of mystery.

 Initially it began as a conversation with my 94-year-old-mother, Martha Bartlett, who for as long as I can remember has been completely beguiled and obsessed with the world of American Folk Art. I owe a debt of gratitude to her because throughout my childhood she brought to our house a steady stream of wonderful and beautiful objects. That dialogue is still vibrant.
